Extreme Dance Team 2011

The “EXTREME DANCE TEAM ” is a fabulous, fantastic and fun event designed to promote a feeling of good will and friendship between the various schools. This is a competitive event with dancers from different schools coming together on the same team and competing for the honor of being the “Extreme Team” of the 2011 B.C. Annual Dance Competition. The number of teams competing will depend on the number of entries we received.

We want all the dancers to relax and make this an exciting event for the audience. Take this opportunity to display your technique and showmanship. And cheer enthusiastically for all the dancers.

All juniors and seniors will be divided into 2 to 4 teams and will be on the stage at the same time. Combination 1 will be performed one dancer at a time by all dancers on the team. Then combo 1 will be performed 1 dancer at a time by all the dancers on team 2. This pattern will repeat until all teams and all combinations have been executed. There will be 8 counts of music between each dancer’s combinations with the exception of the Musical Interpretation Category where there will be enough time allotted to wait 16 counts so that the dancers can familiarize themselves with the music. There will be a separate song picked for each person in the Musical Interpretive Category.

Dancers should be familiar with the qualifications of this event, but it is not necessary for the dancer to memorize each combination or the order in which they are required. The combinations will be listed on a bulletin board on each side of the stage. These combinations are listed below this information.

The adjudicators will have a sheet with all the combinations on it and each dancer’s number. The range of the marks will be from 1 to 10 for each combination. The winning team will have the highest total marks.

Jazz Productions of B.C. is proud to offer this exciting and unusual event and we know it will be the highlight of the competition. Enter this team event and be eligible to win the exciting prize that we have waiting for the “EXTREME DANCE TEAM 2011”.
