Peter Oxford and Marianne Howard
Peter Oxford is the founder and National Director of the Showcase Australian Dance Championships which attracts over 7,000 acts a year held in 12 cities all over Australia and New Zealand.
Peter successfully owned and directed his own dance studio in Sydney for over 10 years and was the producer and choreographer for Showbiz Kids Show Troupe, one of the country’s hottest performing groups which performed internationally throughout New Zealand, Ensenada Mexico, Las Vegas and Disney World Florida.
His dance school was also selected as Australian Ambassadors to tour and perform in China on creating the history making Trade Agreements and the launch of the Sydney Sis- ter City exchange program which was fully funded and sponsored by the Australian Government.
Peter has performed in cabaret events and corporate events, he has travelled extensively around the world to con- duct dance workshops, Teacher Seminars as well as guest teaching in the United States. He was also on the production team for the Olympic Torch Relay committee and Choreographer for selected venue openings for the Sydney Olympic Games.
One of the most highly sought after performing arts judges in the county, Peter has also judged Dance Competitions throughout Australia as well as in Las Vegas, Canada, New Zealand and Singapore.
Peter also set up the Dancer of the Year Pageant in 1995 that has now linked with America, New Zealand and Canada. In 2006 Peter accepted a position as a Director on the panel for the World Dance Challenge WDC committee in which has been successfully held in Las Vegas and LA where Peter was also the MC for the event. On creating Showcase National Dance Championships he will continue to offer an educational opportunity for dancers around the world to display their talents in a professional environment.
Its gives Peter Oxford great pleasure on being a guest judge once again in Prince Rupert and looks forward to seeing all the wonderful talent as well as experiencing the local Canadian culture.
Marianne Howard is the founder and Director of Australia’s leading Performing Arts Stu- dio – BRENT STREET Studios Sydney, now in its 24th year. She has instructed, men- tored and developed many young Australian artists to successful careers. More recently Marianne and her husband Drew Anthony travelled from Australia to Canada to work on the choreographic team for the Vancouver Winter Olympics. Other Olympic Games credits include Seoul Korea in 1988, Atlanta USA in 1994, and Sydney Australia in 2000. In 2006 she spent a year working on the Doha Asian Games in Qater in the Middle East. As an actor, Marianne has worked extensively in Aus- tralian television. Her film work includes Caddie and Eve. An accomplished dancer, she has enjoyed leading roles in several Australian theatre productions including Cats (Original Cast), Me and My Girl, Heidi (Heidi), Gypsy (Baby June) and Fiddler on the Roof (Sprintze).
